Stick Together in SA

Christel House win Bostik Stick together in South Africa competition!

Bostik wound up their 2010 Educators Campaign after awarding cash prizes to 3 very deserving groups of learners.  The competition attracted a large number of worthy entries and choosing a winner was very difficult.

First prize went to Christel House, an internationally funded school, providing the highest level of education to children from impoverished communities living in harsh environments.  “When one considers that the only stimulation most of the children get is at school, then you have to salute their love and dedication to education,” says Heidi Masters, Marketing Manager of Permoseal.  “Our visit to the school was inspiring and heartwarming, the quality of their entry was excellent and we could not have chosen a more deserving winner.”

Second prize went to Monte Vista Primary School where the 3rd Grade class won the prize for their very unusual collage made of rolled up paper.  Their educator, Mrs Brown said the children spent an entire week cutting, rolling and pasting and in the process, they learnt about historical landmarks and how to work together in a group. We are very proud of this Classes attention to detail.

Third prize went to Plumstead Preparatory, learners in Mrs Day’s class were delighted at their achievement and immediately started discussing how they would spend their prize money.

The competition reached over 1300 Educators who were given a Bostik booklet containing 8 fun filled educational modules together with a bag full of Bostik and Rolfes adhesives and stationery items.  The campaigns theme, “Stick together in South Africa” encouraged learners to work together in a group, designing and creating a map of South Africa.  Major historical landmarks had to be identified and the exciting competition addressed pride in their work and abilities. At the end of the project, learners had a better understanding of the country in which they live, recognising regions, major towns and cities while exercising their ability to design and add their own creativity and individuality to the project while standing a chance of being rewarded for their effort as a team.

Congratulations to our 3 groups of worthy winners, Bostik is proud of you!
